Lilly USA, LLC sponsored a non-accredited luncheon symposium on the pathophysiology of pain on Friday for those interested in this topic. This year’s program also included a general session devoted to osteoporosis and one devoted to maintaining an independent surgery practice. Other sessions throughout the weekend included those related to surgical topics in foot and ankle, hand, sports, shoulder and elbow, spine, adult reconstructive and arthritis, pediatrics and trauma. A complete listing of session topics, as well as copies of the papers presented, are available in the course syllabus, available online to members only at. The session included lively discussion on the various topics presented, offering participants a new perspective on research and procedures in these areas. Twelve residents and fellows presented their papers with a follow up discussion led by experts in that topic. Our first annual Residents and Fellows Conference was held on Thursday afternoon. The support of our exhibitors is vital to the financial success of our meetings.Ĭonference participants enjoyed a dynamic and informative program, including a cadaver workshop sponsored by Medartis, Inc., focusing on distal radius fractures and a cadaver lab sponsored by Conformis, Inc., focusing on specific partial knee replacement. The exhibit hall was full with over 30 exhibitors and heavily attended by our members. We experienced record attendance – over 700 participants, including practicing (and retired) osteopathic orthopedic surgeons, residents, students and physician assistants.
